Our new shiny link resolver is nearly ready for launch. It will make finding content a lot easier. For example, if you are in the Library Catalogue and you find that something is on loan, it might be available at a library nearby. We currently recommend that you search COPAC to find out. With the link resolver, you’ll simply click a link which gives you a menu with choices of where to go next. If you click the COPAC link, it will automatically go to that title without you having to leave your session or re-enter your search terms.
Similarly, for journals, we often recommend that you check the Union List of Serials (ULS) if we haven’t got a particular issue of a journal here. The link resolver will automatically link you to their record showing which libraries nearby have the issue you need. You can then either visit the library, or place an inter-library loan request which will mean a copy is sent here for you to collect.
But you will also see the link resolver when searching other resources. For example, it will be included in the British Education Index (BEI), JSTOR and many others.
