Happy Birthday DERA!

DERA (the Digital Education Resource Archive) is one year old this month. At the time of my first blog post on DERA, on 28th February 2011 we were very proud that we had managed to get over 1000 full text publications into the archive. One year later, and thanks to our JISC-funded POPE project to add older material (1990 – 2009) plus ongoing addition of new material there are now over 11000 full text, official and related publications relating to education fully accessible, and permanently preserved online. Our usage statistics reflect the increased content – in February 2011 we had 1,213 visits (13,107 pageviews) and this month, to date 10,651 visits (50,112 pageviews). We are very proud of our achievements to date (thanks to all the IOE library staff that have worked really hard to make this possible) and look forward to future software enhancements, improved searching capabilities and an increasingly important role for DERA in the future. As always we welcome comments and feedback. Happy Birthday DERA!
