You are welcome at the Wellcome

The Wellcome Library, part of Wellcome Collection on Euston Road, provides “…insight and information to anyone seeking to understand medicine and its role in society, past and present”. One of the world’s major sources for the study of the history of medicine, the library also provides access to a collection of contemporary biomedical information resources relating to consumer health, popular science, biomedical ethics and the public understanding of science.

Given the range of material available both in physical and online form, IOE staff and students interested in any biomedical related areas could well find joining the Wellcome Library a worthwhile experience.

For more information on joining the library see their website, and to see what’s available to registered users have a look at the list of remote access resources.

While on the site it’s also worth browsing the Wellcome Images collection, much of which is available for non-commercial use under Creative Commons licences.
